Erina Hose Company No.1 has operated continuously in the City of Canandaigua since 1816, although it's early years saw it under different names. First known as "Engine Company No.1" it's members changed the name to "Steamer Company No.1" for a brief time in the mid 1800's. In 1888 the company's members, many of which were of Irish descent, changed the company name one final time to "Erina Hose Company No.1", as it is known today. |
